Ilfracombe State School caters for students from prep to year 7. Established in 1893 and by 1896 there were over 30 students at the school. In 1900 a new school building was built and this served until 1937 with up to 70 students. Today we have a new, larger school building with two other multi-purpose buildings on site for languages-other-than-English (LOTE) lessons, music lessons, parades and special events, serving the needs of our 23 students.
Located in Ilfracombe, 27 kilometres west of Longreach, the school draws the majority of its students from Ilfracombe itself. The remainder of the students come from properties surrounding the school towards Isisford and Aramac. Both in and out of the classroom we expect high levels of behaviour, respect and pride. Students know when wearing the uniform they are representing a great school and this must be reflected in all that they do.
